I was assigned on Bulletin team in my office, and I was asked to make an editorial, but somehow I think it’s not in my authority to make editorial, because I am not the editor, and the one they’re making cannot be called editorial. So, I searched the meaning of editorial, and here’s what I found in Wikipedia.
An editorial, leading article (UK), or leader (UK) is an opinion piece written by the senior editorial staff or publisher of a newspaperor magazine or any other written document. Editorials may be supposed to reflect the opinion of the periodical.”
Editorials are typically published on a special page dedicated to them, called the editorial page, which often also features letters to the editor from members of the public; the page opposite this page is called the op-ed page and frequently contains opinion pieces by writers not directly affiliated with the publication. However, a newspaper may choose to publish an editorial on the front page.
In Merriam-Webster online, the definitions of editorial are :
a newspaper or magazine article that gives the opinions of the editors or publishers; also : an expression of opinion that resembles such an article <a television editorial>
